The University of Winchester has carried out fieldwork at the southern end of the Quantocks.

The Yarford Villa is thought to be the most westerly Roman villa site.

This day conference will look at Castles in the Landscape and focus on Montacute Castle in Somerset . The meeting will look at recent research on Castles and provide an opportunity to visit Montacute castle to look at issues of site management and interpretation. Meeting jointly supported by the National Trust, Somerset County Council and the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society.

 Price £20 to include tea and coffee and lunch. Concessions £15 (OAP and students)
